Engr. Christopher Jay R. Ababan of the University of the East, copped 2nd Place in the ECE Licensure Exam given November 2006 with a score of 91.70 just 0.20 shy of the first placer. Engr. Ababan said in his testimony that only UE and EXCEL can claim credit over his success, following reports that he was claimed by other review centers as their topnotcher. He also said that "IT IS UNFAIR FOR EXCEL TO BE COMPARED TO OTHER CENTERS SINCE THERE IS REALLY NOTHING TO COMPARE".
